PRESENT POSITION: Senior Engineer (Technology & Optimization) Period: July 16, 2001 to till date Petrochemical Corporation of Singapore (Pte) Ltd. (known as PCS) is a world-renowned petrochemical company. Solomon study rated the plant as one of the most premium ones. My responsibilities include: -To improve the performance of the plants by innovative/creative thinking, studying, suggesting & implementing modifications. This includes arranging, coordinating and evaluating test operations. -Trouble Prevention i.e. to observe for the early warning signals & provide guidelines to operating staff so as to avoid impending upset. -To monitor the key parameters of the plants so as to maximize production without endangering the design limits of the equipments. -To provide prompt & timely trouble-shooting and solve problems in the plant operations & quality related matters. Problem Solving Techniques include hands on experience of Simulation Software- SIMSCI (Pro II), HTRI and Instrucalc -To study for de-bottlenecks and capacity expansion. -To aid operation group during “Shut-Down Maintenance” & Inspection. -To attend to matters arising from / to Licensors / Vendors. -To provide training & assistance to Operations personnel.
PAST POSITION: Senior Deputy Manager (Chemical) Period: December 6, 1996 to June 28, 2001 Led a team of engineers in pre-commissioning, commissioning and safely & smoothly operating Gas Cracker Ethylene Plant and LPG Plant of GAIL India Ltd. (earlier known as Gas Authority of India Ltd). Later, in Technical Services Department helped Operations to identify & troubleshoot the technical problems in the plants by diagnosing the early warning signals. Other responsibilities included evaluation of plant modifications and carrying out mass & energy balance.
PAST POSITION: Senior Project/Production Engineer Period: April 5, 1988 to November 29, 1996 Pre-commissioning and commissioning of the ethylene facility of Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (IPCL), Nagothane plant. Held a special assignment of pre-commissioning and commissioning the Feed / Product Section of the Ethylene Plant which had got damaged earlier due to fire and later reconstructed. Here, I led a team of engineers and safely & successfully commissioned the plant and got accolades in return.
