To obtain a Petroleum Engineer position with an exploration/production company in the oilfield
Reservoir Engineering: Determined initial flow back on initial perforations and/or after a formation stimulation using high pressure equipment to control the cleaning processors of the well bore and stabilize the flow rates in order to properly measure the Absolute Open Flow Potential. Conducted Bottomhole pressure build-up tests (4 point and 1 point tests) using Wireline instrumentation at the exact formation depth. Calculated bottomhole pressures from shut-in pressures for flowing and shut-in gas wells. Used Cullender-Smith method for calculating bottomhole pressures of gas wells greater than 12,000ft in the Anadarko basin. Determined permeability and skin damage of a well utilizing build up pressure data. Used Horner and other plots of pressure build-up data to determine the slope, P1hr and P*. Calculated gas in place and recoverable reserves from cumulative gas production and pressures. Performed oil material balance calculations with water influx and gas cap. Calculated original oil in place from oil properties and reservoir properties. Experienced in high pressure and high temperature well drilling . Familiar with dissipation of high pressure gas “kick” during drilling operations using drilling choke/kill manifolds, Kelly valves, trip-tanks and remote control panels. Performed economic analysis of truck transportation of compressed natural gas for newly drilled natural gas wells that did not have pipeline connections. Performed chromatographic analysis of natural gas to determine BTUs and specific gravity. Experienced in well drilling and testing of sour reservoir fluids.
