Over 11 years of experience as a Geologist with a broad knowledge in all
aspects of sandstone geology, geophysics, seismic and well log interpretation,
well completion and work over activities,. 5 years experience as Well-site and supervisor.
After short experience on mining sector between june1996 and september1997, I was recruited by SONATRACH (National Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Company, Algeria) in 1997 as geologist in charge to geological study and evaluating the hydrocarbon system in the re-entry wells, I have moved on the operational sector as well site Geologist from 1999 to 2004 at Hassi Messaoud and its satellites fields (Algeria), My main mission was geological supervise for vertical, horizontals, Coiled tubing, and Under-Balance Drilling, my skills includes geological evaluations, determination of formations tops, all casing shoe depth and giving the final depth (total depth).
The Important fracture network, intrusive rocks (volcanic) and siltstones layers cross the reservoir makes the uses the geosteering MWD/LWD more necessary to formations evaluation in real-time (Gamma ray and Resistivity), guide and help directional drilling in getting the main target and direction (Azimuth) selected.
Geosteering by MWD and LWD technology in a horizontal drilling in Hassi Messaoud field, is use in the case of OWC (Oil Water Contact) and OGC (Oil Gas Contact), actually in Hassi Messaoud field, the OWC is active and very variable, and many gas cap are possible because of gas injectors wells neighbourhood, so to drill more or less then 1200m of 6" lateral section, it’s essential to use gamma ray and Resistivity measurement in real time.
From 2004 till now, I occupy the post of Geological Supervision Service Manager, I am responsible of the coordination and the realization of all the geological works linked to the drilling work-sites (Geological supervision, coring, cores moving and storage, data up date,..),assure the relation ship between SONATRACH and all drilling and services companies.
Currently I am in charge of 15 rigs of drilling and 07 rigs of re-entry wells by short radius in Hassi Messaoud and its satellite Field (ALGERIA), also I manage more to 138 300m of cores.
