Professional Experience
Twenty-one years project experience in the field of Oil & Gas industry Refineries/Petrochemical-Complex/ Onshore-facilities construction. Job responsibilities include Field Engineering/Construction management/Contract administration/Quality control/Certification/Document control/Progress monitoring & reporting. High technical insight and commercial awareness. Well versed in International Codes, HSE norms, QA/QC & Certification procedures. Conversant with computer applications.
Main responsibilities: Recommending construction engineering organization; directing activities relating to construction engineering; engineering liaison with the design offices. Coordinating with construction managers and sub-contractors to plan construction schedule. Directing preparation of requisitions for field procured materials, material substitution; reviewing material receiving reports to assure delivery of correct materials. To plan & recommend procedure to be implemented by construction superintendents to assure construction operations meet the requirements of engineering design & specifications. Coordinating sub-contract activities to ensure materials, equipment and workmanship comply with design plans and specifications. Supervising the maintenance of construction engineering records; monitoring receiving, distribution and filing of engineering documents, drawings, specifications & procedures. To maintain direct contacts with Clients resident engineering & operating personnel to co-ordinate construction activities. Management of changes. To implement controls over variables affecting job progress to ensure engineering and procurement provide timely delivery of drawings, materials & equipment. To administer major subcontract changes and represent the company in major contractual discussions and negotiations. Assisting in preparation of discrete work package, mechanical completion package and system handover, as-built records and ensuring all completed works conforms to contract requirements.
Eductation
First Class (75%) B.E. Degree (4 years Full Time) in Civil Engineering from Bengal Engineering College (Calcutta University), Sibpur, India: 1983 87.
Certification
Member of Institution of Engineers (India) from 26.04.96 (Membership no: M/120326/0) In house training on ISO 9000 Awareness Programme, by EIL, Calcutta, India.
Additional Information
I have been working in Oil and Gas Industry since last 17 years. This includes working in grass-root refineries, petrochemicals, onshore facilities - from the beginning of the work till up to the commissioning phase. I have work experience for almost all types of constructions related to Oil and Gas Industry. This exposure provides me the confidence to handle multi-disciplinary Projects.
Since last 5 years, I am working with international oil/gas producers like British Petroleum (BP), Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (GASCO). I am now familiar with the state-of-the-art technologies that are adopted to execute project works in international arena, practicing top class safety culture, with a multi-national environment and that has added my strength to work effectively anywhere with any workforce.
