JOB DESCRIPTION ¡¤ Ensure that all 4-5 axis horizontal machining centers are constantly running at full capacity in order to achieve this my self and various other cnc setters must see that all necessary tooling, fixtures are loaded correctly. ¡¤ I have to keep a track record of components, cutting tools and record it in a specific data sheet for ISO standards
SOUTH AFRICA ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATORY April 06 to April 07 1year Contract Position held: Instrument manufacturer, CNC milling CAD CAM programmer ¡¤ Manufacturing precision components for a mechanical mechanism known as an auto guider to detect and automatically compensate position and alignment of the South African Large Telescope used by Astronomers for Science information ¡¤ Briefly done an introduction course on a new 3d software package known as NX4, programming tool paths for Mitsubishi machining center, utilizing various tool room machines viz; milling, center lathes, cutter grinders etc. assembly of instrumentation ¡¤ Basic design of jigs and fixtures, and 3d solid modeling using NX4 unigraphics
FREEPLAYTECHNOLOGY/ SKEG PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT Position held: Machinist cad/cam programmer April 2000 to March 2006 ¡¤ Manufacturing of components for generators, gear trains to Produce self-powered energy. ¡¤ Setting up and operating the 4-axis machining center in order to machine 3-dimensional components for prototyping as well as various other parts. ¡ñ When product has been approved, design pack is done, the pack gets handed to ¡ñ While the cnc machine is set and running the tool path that has been programmed using the software, I would be turning, assembling or programming the next component or operation, assembly of Electro-mechanical prototypes, manufacturing precision micro turbines consisting of helical blades spaced 0.4mm radially around a diameter for various fluid flowing applications to produce some kind of energy ¡ñ Exposed to various rapid prototyping methods to manufacture small quantities of 3 dimensional plastic components, lenses and various other parts using silicone Tooling, vacuum casting machines, heaters and spraying facilities to give the Product or prototype various finish and colors.
