I have always had the desire and aspiration to work in the engineering field and be associated to a multinational company. My desire is to work in a field in which I can apply my engineering knowledge in real life situations.
2005- 2008: Queen Mary University of London
Student Ambassador: Provide tours around all the university campuses to prospective university students. My role involved guiding students to engineering experiment laboratories, inform students about university faculties and opportunities available, dealing with work related problems and mentoring and training new recruits. I was able to gain excellent inter personal and communication skills, organisational, ability to work under pressure, leadership and time management skills.
2005-2008: Queen Mary University of London
Mechanical Engineering BEng –Degree Class: Lower 2nd Class Honours
2004- 2005: Queen Mary University of London
Science and Engineering Foundation Programme (All required units passed)
2002-2004: St Angela’s and St Bonaventure’s Sixth Form
AVCE Business Studies (CC) and AS Media Studies (D)
1997- 2002: Stratford Secondary School
6 A – C GCSE’s including Maths, Double Science and English language
2006: Queen Mary University of London
Mechanical Workshop Practice Course: Course covers measuring and marking out, basic turning, milling, drilling, fitting, brazing and lastly quality control. In this course I manufactured a metal screwdriver and toolbox using the above skills.
During my Mechanical Engineering degree I have acquired a sound knowledge of leading edge engineering principles, tools and practices. Over the course of my degree I have been able to develop a good mix of subject specific, technical and transferable core skills. All of my units required me to solve problems using both logic and creative approaches. As my third year project was a review on Hybrid Electric Vehicles I was able to gain excellent research and analytical skills, not only did this project enable me to plan and prioritise work but also allowed me to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Throughout my degree, I employed maths as an instrument to communicate my designs, arrive at solutions and compose an analysis. I believe that the disclosure and development of customer needs and problems allows you to develop and provide a solution. All engineers need to have a logical mind and the ability to think ahead. I believe I have the ability to cope with pressure, keep my focus and work hard. I am competent with AutoCad Drawings and using Ideas software for engineering analysis, studying these programmes proves my capability of careful attention to detail and allows me to exercise good judgement. The most valuable experience I have acquired from my degree is performing with a team and working together, this has facilitated me to communicate with others and work in multidisciplinary teams.
