Professional Experience |
Summary of Experience: Over 28 years of heavy industrial construction experience with 14 years of arctic oil and gas industry work. My most recent experience includes the successful completion of a Prudhoe Bay, Alaska fast track engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project for British Petroleum of a regulatory driven project. I have two and a half years of Russian oil field construction experience on Sakhalin Island where I managed a $250 million dollar contract with a diverse work force that averaged over 450 Russian nationals and ex-pat supervisors. I have prepared execution plans, defined critical resources and work schedules which have also included putting together labor, equipment and materials cost estimates for budgets and proposals. My management responsibilities include; contract performance/compliance, work planning, labor, equipment, subcontractor and vendor supervision, health safety and environmental performance, welding procedure development and quality assurance/control. Specific work activities have included turn around work in oil and gas facilities, hot-taps and natural gas pipe line (“hot tie-ins”), critical heavy lifts, oil storage tank repairs, confined space work with breathing air gear, engineered scaffolding and deep trench excavations with engineered shoring and excavation around sensitive utilities and live lines. I have provided leadership from the front and administered world class safety programs. In a world wide competition with world class projects the Sakhalin project team was selected as ExxonMobil’s safe contractor of the year for 2005. In 1986 as part of the DOT mandatory drug testing requirements I was required to implement and set up some of the first random drug and alcohol testing programs on the North Slope. The results of this program were a dramatic improvement in safety and increased productivity. I worked with ARCO welding engineers to develop the first production automated duplex stainless steel welding procedures for Alaska’s North Slope. My diverse working knowledge includes environmental mitigation, pipe line stream and river crossings, horizontal directional drilling, meter stations, pipe line corrosion and cathodic protection, electrical and instrumentation work, insulation, coatings and heat trace. |
