During my working career i have gained valuable experience and skills as a mechanical fitter. I have learned to work as a team and also on my own initiative. I am very good at communicating with people at all levels of management.
As a Mechanical Fitter i have carried out various types of Mechanical work including Scheduled, Preventative and Breakdown maintenance. I also have experience in steam turbines and gas Turbines including LM1600,LM2500 and LM6000, Generator and Compressors which involved removing, overhauling and repairing the Internal and External components. I have also carried out new Installations, Maintenance and repairs on both pumps and valves which involved centrefuegal and multistage pumps, parallel slides, wedge gates, non return valves, ball valves, pressure seals, main stops and safety valves. I have done a high torque bolt tensioning course covering rad guns and cassettes both pneumatic and hydraulic.
All this was within the Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, chemical, Coal and Nuclear Industry, during this time i was also introduced to lazer alignment which involved the optalign and rotalign lazer equipment for which i was responsible for high tolerance alignments. Other tasks included hydrotesting which involved testing pipework, finn fans, exchangers to pressures between 5 bar and 100 bar.
I have also carried out construction, installation and maintenance work on conveyor systems, which involved Installing, Levelling and Aligning all types of machinery, part of this work also involved steel erecting and plant layout. I am also fully conversant in the Interpretation of isometric drawings and the use of precision tools to a high standard. I have been involved in Shutdown/Outages on various plants and stations throughout the country and oversea's.
