Job Description: Duties as seniore Electrical preventive Maintenance Engineer(senior electrician)
Responsible of fixing and maintenance of drilling rig equipments like: Carry out the complex fault finding, minor repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of LV/HV electrical equipment and associated switchgear . Identify requirements for major repair, replacement and or workshop reconditioning work to be carried out. Update preventive maintenance records for work done, including electrical drawings.
Carry out electrical equipment fault finding and repair work. Diagnoses, check and repair faults on various items of equipment in the power generation and distribution system, including AC generators, and auto voltage regulators, synchronising equipment and protection relays. Use multimeters, Insulation resistance meters, and cable fault location techniques on motors, electronic control systems and circuit breakers. Repair faults by repairing or replacing parts on relays, breakers, contractors, isolators and other switchgear components.
Carry out the routine maintenance of various power generation and distribution equipment and related switchgear, and other equipment such as motors, pumps, transformers, cranes and hoists. Include inspecting and testing equipment according to check-lists, calibrating relays as required. Clean and replace defective or worn parts, dismantle and repair starters, drive systems, generators, alternators and switches. Complete maintenance tasks and restart and test equipment in running condition.
Carry out on workshop overhauls of electrical equipment. Include stripping down units, changing parts, replacing electronic cards and bench testing equipment before re-installation. Maintain various electrical tools, test equipment and domestic appliances such as kitchen ranges, dishwashers, hot water boilers, washing machines, onboard entertainment systems, ensuring that all function correctly.
Carry out various complex maintenance and repair tasks on industrial and non-industrial lighting systems; fault finding on both fluorescent and discharge types and repairing control systems'. Repair and test explosion proof equipment,
