REFINERY PROCESS CONTROLLER/CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR 1996 to Present, BP, Petroplus, Coryton Refinery, Essex
• On plant responsibility for the safe/efficient operation/optimisation and Passed City & Guilds accredited Petroplus Competency Assurance Modules Stages 1 & 2 of the Crude Distillation Unit, Vacuum Distillation Unit, CHD and Kero Merox Units • Interpret instrument data and make necessary adjustments to optimise the Process Units to meet targets using Honeywell TDC 3000 DCS and Processbook • Ensure the process is maintained within safe working limits and in line with current operating procedures • Experienced Permit to Work issuer and Control of Work Coordinator • Production liaison during unit commissioning and refinery turnarounds • Sampling and analysing unit streams and rundown samples using in-plant laboratory testing facilities • Preparing and commissioning equipment for maintenance • Maintenance skills, including joint integrity trained • Responsible for writing and reviewing procedures • Communicate and log information for shift leaders and engineers and work effectively in a team
