TATNEFT Discovered 16 Fields in 2009

TATNEFT and enterprises with the Company's share in the capital discovered sixteen fields in 2009, including ten fields in the Republic of Tatarstan, while three fields were discovered in the Samara District, and two fields were discovered in the Orenburg District, as well as one deposit was discovered abroad in Syria.

Increase of A + B + C1 + C2 categories recoverable reserves of crude oil and condensate for the TATNEFT Group of companies amounted to more than 62.7 million tons with more than 44.5 million tons located within the territory of Tatarstan.

Consistent implementation of geological exploration works provides for TATNEFT's steady increase in the recoverable reserves in amounts that compensate current oil production. According to Miller and Lents independent international consulting company the proved developed, undeveloped and undrilled reserves of OAO TATNEFT exceed 878 million tons of crude oil as of the beginning in 2009.
