Wood Group’s Alliance Engineering has been awarded a contract to provide engineering, design and procurement support services for the expansion of Compressor Station 420, which is part of the Gulfstream Natural Gas System in Florida. The expansion at the existing compressor station includes a gas turbine-driven compressor unit, a compressor building extension, pipeline and process connections, and utility systems as necessary for the operation of the new compressor unit. Installation of the new compressor unit at the existing facility is scheduled to be completed in 2011.
Alliance President Edmund Lunde stated: “This project will allow us to apply our fit-for-purpose compressor station design expertise to another compressor station on the Gulfstream Natural Gas System, which in turn will allow Gulfstream to increase pipeline capacity while maximizing facility operating efficiencies. We look forward to be working with the Gulfstream team to successfully complete the development.”
