In total, Libya exports an overwhelming 85 percent of its crude oil to Europe. Relying on Libya for almost a quarter of its crude oil imports, Ireland tops the list of dependents with 14,000 barrels a day in 2010. Italy and Austria are close behind with at least 20 percent of their supply derived from North African country.
When it comes to importing by the barrel, Italy hauled in a lion's share of 376,000 barrels a day in 2010, the most of any nation. France, China and Germany are close runner-ups, with 205,000, 150,000 and 144,000 barrels a day respectively.
