The managing director of the Iranian Offshore Engineering And Construction Company (IOEC), Ali Taheri says the company’s ongoing projects having a value of 9 billion dollars up three times when compared with previous year.

Talking at the first news conference of the 16th Oil, Gas, Refining And Petrochemicals Exhibition, Mr. Taheri said the company was engaged in 14 offshore oil and gas projects in the Persian gulf including offshore sectors of 9, 10, 14,15,16,17,18,19,20 phases of the South Pars gas field plus Forozan oilfield.

Referring to 35-months timetable for completion of remaining phases of the south pars gas field, the official said that he thought the new phases would come on stream on schedule.

'Laying gas pipeline in the Persian Gulf waters will rise to 710 kilometers this year, more than double the last year figure that stood at 330 kilometers,’ the managing director of the Iranian Offshore engineering and construction Company (IOEC) said.

Estimating the annual value of the gas burnt at Forozan oilfield at 700 million dollars, Taheri noted that flaring gas would be stopped in near future by transferring it to Kharg Island by laying an offshore pipeline.

On the latest situation of the South Pars gas field phase 14, Taheri noted based on a deal with the Iranian company Global Petro Tech, the company has undertaken to drill the field’s wells.

Referring to the presence of the company in projects outside the country including Indian and Russian, the official added the company plans to play a role in overseas oil and gas projects including Brazil through bidding.
