The first contract for exporting Iran's natural gas to Iraq will be signed within the next two month, the caretaker of the National Iranian Gas Exporting Company (NIGEC), Hossein Bidarmaghz announced.
He said that according to the preliminary deal Iran's gas will be transited through Ilam border to supply three Iraqi power plants but the final agreement will be inked within two months, Iran's SHANA news agency reported.
He went on to say that under the agreement, Iran would export 25 million cubic meters of gas per day to Iraq in the next year and a half.
He said that the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity has signed a contract with an Iranian company for the construction of the required gas pipeline in its territory.
