TNK-BP Implements Intellectual Management System

TNK-BP is getting ready for implementation of an oil production automated remote control system known as ‘Intellectual Field’, which has proven to be effective in West Siberia, across the entire company.

Since mid-2010 the Company has been applying intellectual control systems for managing artificial lift wells and monitoring operation parameters at the Samotlor field. It includes 6 thousand oil wells. The project is to be fully implemented in Samotlor by the end of 2013. This will allow stabilizing production at this brownfield. German Khan, Executive Director of TNK-BP, said that the project would be available for TNK-BP subsidiaries in the Orenburg Region, Tyumen Oblast and East Siberia. ‘We will offer the Intellectual Field system with account of individual peculiarities of each subsidiary, its geography and objectives’, he was quoted as saying.
