Three drilling rigs will be imported next month to start drilling operations in four oil fields including Koh Mond, Kaki, Boshgan and Zagheh.
Bahman Samimi who is in charge of development of heavy oil fields at Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) made the remarks adding drilling operations will be started before the end of current year after importing rigs.
Development contract of Koh Mond, Kaki and Boshgan was signed last year between Petroleum Engineering and Development Company and an international company its name was not disclosed.
The three oil fields are slated to be developed in two phases. The first phase of the plan aims at production of 11 thousand barrels of oil per day 52 months after the contract comes into force while in the second phase oil production will be raised to 22 thousand barrels per day in a 77 month period. The three oil fields are located south of Iran.
On zagheh oil field, Samimi said the contractor has started executive work. PEDEC signed a memorandum of understand in December last year with a foreign oil company to raise oil production from the field to 7 thousand and 55 thousand barrels per day respectively in first and second phases.
Zagheh oil field is located west of Iran, 25 kilometers from Daylam port city.
