HRT Announces Discovery in Well 1-HRT-8-AM

HRT Participaçoes em Petroleo S.A announces that its subsidiary HRT O&G Exploraçao e Produçao de Petroleo Ltda. ("HRT O&G") submitted to the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (Agência Nacional do Petroleo, Gas Natural e Biocombustiveis - ANP), Notice of Discovery of gas in the well 1-HRT-8-AM.

Based on hydrocarbon shows in cuttings, mud logging gas detection and wire line formation tests, two gas-bearing reservoir intervals were observed in the Jurua Formation, between 3,045 and 3,130m of depth. The well was spudded on March 17, 2012 and reached a final depth of 3,345 meters, in Devonian sedimentary rocks. The well will be cased so that drillstem tests can be run to evaluate the production potential of the reservoirs.
