Eng. Sameh Fahmi, Minister of Petroleum, received a report from Eng. Hani Dahi, the Chairman of Petrojet, about the company's success in manufacturing, absorbing and compressing oil extraction pumps for the first time in Egypt, after signing a cooperation agreement to manufacture these pumps with the international Lufkin company which is considered one of the greatest international companies for manufacturing such pumps. However, within the framework of the agreement, about 93 pumps were manufactured at the specialized workshops of Petrojet in Al Qatamyia.
Petrojet obtained the American Petroleum Institute "API" certificate in this domain, which is considered a great technological step. These pumps were utilized with high efficiency at the oil fields of Eastern and Western Deserts. This activity provided about 150 job opportunities inside the manufacturing workshops and this workmanship gained great experience and trained upon most updated manufacturing methods.
The report pointed that as a result to the success in producing these pumps and its operation efficiency, Lufkin company asked Petrojet for manufacturing 355 pumps this year, 80% of which for local usage in production sites in Egypt, and 20% for export. This quantity presents about 10% of total Lufkin company production at the world scale.
