On Mar. 9th, Sinochem signed the Strategic Cooperation Framework on Building the Largest Domestic Nitrogen Fertilizer Production Base with the Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The two sides will uphold the principle of “Sharing Complementary Advantages and Achieving Common Development”, and invest in a project with an annual capacity of 2 million tons of ammonia and 3.2 million tons urea at Ningdong Energy and Chemical Production Base (hereafter referred to as Ningdong Base).
Mr. Chen Jianguo, Secretary of Party Committee, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Mr. Wang Zhengwei, Chairman of Ningxia Government, Mr. Liu Deshu, Secretary of Sinochem Party Committee, Mr. Han Gensheng and Mr. Feng Zhibin, Vice Presidents of Sinochem Group, attended the signing ceremony. Mr. Zhao Xiaoping, Vice Chairman of Ningxia Government, and Mr. Du Keping, General Manager of Sinofert Holdings Limited, signed the Framework on behalf of each side.
According to the Framework, Sinochem will invest RMB 16 billion in Ningdong Base, which is across Yinchuan and Wuzhong, to build the aforesaid project in two phases. Upon the conclusion of the project, it will become one of the largest nitrogen fertilizer companies in the world in terms of single-plant capacity. With the two existing production bases, Sinochem will control three production bases in North, Northeast, and Northwest China. It will improve Sinochem’s industrial landscape, and increases its annual nitrogen capacity to 5.4 million tons, which will help Sinochem to rank among the largest nitrogen fertilizer companies in the world.
