In a new cooperation with the Dutch energy company De Nederlandse Energie Maatschappij (NLE), DONG Energy will be strengthening its existing position in the Netherlands.
On14 October, three supply contracts have been concluded between DONG Energy and NLE.
The contracts concluded are a gas sales contract, an electricity sales contract and a contract under which DONG Energy will provide back office services such as customer registration and billing. The contracts will constitute a mutual long-term commitment.
With the cooperation DONG Energy will indirectly be increasing its electricity and gas supply to household and business customers in the Dutch market. The number of supplied customer accounts will increase from approx. 150,000 to approx. 380,000.
DONG Energy is able to bid as a supplier partly due to the activities of its Dutch subsidiary DONG Energy Sales B.V., and partly to its gas and electricity supply to the Dutch wholesale market on competitive terms.

NLE is today the fastest-growing energy sales company in the Netherlands. Since its establishment in 2005, the company has gained more than 230,000 customers, mainly dual fuel gas and electricity customers. The company has a market share of approx. 4% of the Dutch energy market and generated revenue of just over DKK 2 billion in 2009.
DONG Energy has been building up its market position in the Netherlands over the past six years with investments in a gas-fired power station, an LNG gas terminal and as electricity and gas supplier to wholesale, household and
business customers.
