Managing director of the National Iranian Gas Export Company (NIGEC), Hossein Bidarmaghz says Pakistan wants to transit Iran's gas and China is eager to import it.
He went on to say that, China's need to natural gas and LNG would be equal Europe's consumption by the end of 2030 adding Iran benefits relative advantage in gas exports in comparison to its rivals Qatar and Russia due to its geographical position that is located between two consumption markets, China and Europe, Iran's SHANA news agency reported.
On the other hand, India will turn into biggest gas consumption in Asia in the future, the official said.
He noted that extending Iran-Pakistan's gas pipeline to China was one of the options for exporting gas adding Iran’s delegation will raise the issue during the scheduled visit to China.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said gas production and consumption now equal in the UAE, it meets part of its energy needs from Qatar in the pipeline and LNG forms adding the country prefer to purchase gas from Iran due to short distance between the two countries.
Beside UAE, Iran has presented its technical and economical proposals related to gas exports to Bahrain and Kuwait waiting for their reply, he concluded.
