Engineering and construction director of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company said the basic engineering studies of South Gashu gas field has come to an end.
Mohammad Reza Naghibi said the project includes well drilling, installation of upstream facilities and gas processing facilities together with the construction of residential camps and transmission pipelines.
The official added South Gashu refinery has the capacity of processing some 14.1 million cubic meters of gas per day and its construction requires 1.3 billion dollar investment.
"This project is planned to produce and process some 14 million cubic meters of light sweet gas, 5thousand barrels of oil and 1000 ton of sulfur", Naghibi concluded.
South Gashu is located 70km west of Bandar Abbas city with over 4 trillion cubic feet of in-situ gas.
