Kim Berknov to Step Down as Joint CE from Mercom

Mercom, the oil exploration and development company focused on Canadian oil sands, announces that following the appointment of John Zorbas as Joint Chief Executive on 19th June 2011, Kim Berknov has announced that he will be stepping down as Joint Chief Executive and will instead become a Non Executive Director.

Mr Berknov comments. 'I am very pleased to have brought the company this far but feel that the focus of activity must now move to Canada, and there is no longer a need for me to remain in an executive role. I need to devote more time to other business activities, and I have great confidence in John who will continue in the position of Chief Executive. I believe that the company has a very bright future under his leadership,"

Mr Zorbas comments. "I think Kim has done an excellent job and I look forward to continuing to work with him as a Board colleague."
