The technical strengths of Severn Glocon's control valve product range, combined with a successful track record of contractual achievements in the region, have been recognised with the award of an important contract for another major Middle East oil industry project.
Severn Glocon has been selected by contractor JGC of Japan to supply control valves on the Bab Field Development EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) project ordered by the Abu Dhabi Company for onshore oil operations (Adco).
To date Severn Glocon has received orders for nearly 100 valves for delivery early in 2004.
The majority are Severn Glocon Series 1000 and 5000 severe service globe valve designs in carbon steel, 254SMO and aluminium bronze for media including hydrocarbon liquid and gas, nitrogen and water.
The pneumatically actuated valves have been specified in sizes up to 500mm, pressure rated at ANSI Class 300.
In addition Severn Glocon is supplying carbon steel and aluminium self-acting regulators as well as 300 and 500mm Vanessa rotary process valves, rated at ANSI Class 300 and 600, packaged with Biffi actuators.
Severn Glocon's selection by JGC follows the company's successful performance on the Saudi Aramco Haradh Gas Processing project, which was recognised by the award of a coveted JGC Project Appreciation Certificate.
The Bab Field Development project will deliver a 100,000 barrel per day expansion of production from the Rumaitha and Al Dabbiya fields to a maximum level of 350,000 barrels per day.
The project entails the supply and installation of two processing trains, two- and three-phase separation facilities, a degassing station and related pipeline works.
