Petchem Plants' Productivity Rises 10% under RouhaniSource: Shana 8/28/2017, Location: Asia
The productivity rate of Iran's petrochemical plants rose by at least 10% under President Rouhani's first term, National Petrochemical Company (NPC) says.
Summing up its achievements during the first 4 years of Mr. Rouhani's presidency since 2013, NPC announced it successfully brought the country's average petrochemical production rate from 71% of the plants' nameplate capacity in 2013 to 82% by 2017.
In 2013, of 56 million tons per year (mt/y) of nameplate output capacity of petrochemical facilities, 40mt/y of polymer and petrochemical products was produced.
In 2014 capacity rose to 57.1 mt/y, while production stone at 44.3 mt/y. The following year, 2015, saw 57.9 mt/y of nameplate production capacity with 46.4 mt/y of output.
For 2016, however, production capacity rose to 61.9 mt/y while production stood at 50.6 mt/y.
Production in 2017 is expected to reach 56.58 mt which is 86% of the country's production capacity.
Materializing the second petrochemical leap in Iran's history is another top priority for NPC in Rouhani's second administration, said the company.
Tapping inactive potentialities in the sector and maximizing productivity of petrochemical facilities across the country are also seriously pursued by the company.
