In the past, the majority of the wells in the GCC have been conventional wells, and therefore have been suspended at the end of their life-cycle but not fully abandoned. However, as the easy oil is coming to an end and the GCC is drilling more and more unconventional wells, the know-how for fully abandoning wells is becoming increasingly important. Not only for safety purposes, but also to meet the increasingly stringent regulations in the GCC, with penalties including fines or even loss of operating licenses.
The Well Abandonment Summit 2015 has been developed to help NOCs & IOCs in the region find the most cost-effective ways to abandon these wells whilst adhering to regulations. The summit will address key areas including; the latest regulatory updates, how to suspend reservoir communication, avoid water contamination and decommission wells offshore cost effectively.
Why attend?
- Suspend reservoir communication to avoid blow outs and environmental damage
- Reduce water contamination possibilities through effective well sealing
- Decommission offshore wells cost-effectively with rigless solutions
- Interpret the latest regulatory framework in the GCC to ensure compliance and avoid fines
- Link well design with legacy (post-abandonment)
Meet experts from the following departments:
- Well Abandonment
- Petroleum Engineering
- Drilling Engineering
- Subsea Engineering
- Completions & Workover
- Fluids & Cementing
- Operations
- Offshore Decommissioning
