Polar Racking Inc., North American leader in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of solar PV mounting solutions is happy to announce that has completed their Independent Engineer Report review for their Asxus Sol-X True-Terrain following single axis by Leidos Engineering, which is now available to share with key customers.
As part of Leidos’ review, they conducted a full assessment of the company’s history, manufacturing capabilities and all aspects of the tracker development include design, control systems and Operation & Maintenance. Special consideration was given to the wind tunnel testing, structural review and sign off. The report outlines the automotive DFMEA process used to validate the design, mitigate any potential risks along with details about the testing to support their conclusions.
The review form Leidos concludes that the Polar Racking Axsus single axis tracker solution and certifications are in line with the common industry standards. The review encompasses the significant improvements that Polar Racking has made to the system since the time it acquired the technology.
Polar Racking’s True-Terrain Following tracker unique design offers industry leading slope tolerance (up to 30%), simple assembly and superior production in high wind areas. The inherent system design works with all foundation types including ground screws, driven piles, helical and ballasted foundation types. The drive system was tested in automotive labs, and it has an expected 40-year design life with no expected maintenance requirements.
