The Port Authority of Valčncia (PAV) is launching the ZAL project (Logistics Activities Zone) of the Port of Valčncia. The Board of Directors of Valencia Intermodal and Logistics Platform (VPI-Logistica) met today with the aim of initiating all the necessary procedures to activate the project.
The Board of Directors of VPI-Logística, chaired from today by the president of the PAV, also incorporates the new directors of the company: three representing the PAV, two representing the Generalitat Valenciana, one representing the City Council of Valčncia and a representative of SEPES (Entidad Pública Empresarial de Suelo) who repeats in the position.
The members of the Council emphasised the importance of the Supreme Court ruling – judgement no. 441/2024 of 12 March, which was made public two days later – which declares the Special Plan for the ZAL of the Port of Valčncia to be in accordance with the law.
This Supreme Court ruling clears up the legal and urban planning uncertainty of the ZAL, allowing the formalisation of the surface rights awarded on four of the logistics plots in the park to be activated.
The operations of VPI
Valencia Plataforma Intermodal y Logística, is a state-owned trading company and technical service of the Port Authority of Valčncia, in charge of the Logistic and Intermodal development associated with the Ports of the Port Authority of Valčncia and of those works that favour the commercialisation of the Logistic Activity Zones of the Intermodal Centres and of the Port Authority of Valčncia. The surface area of the ZAL of the Port of Valčncia is destined exclusively for logistics. It is strategically located next to the Port of Valčncia and the main transport hubs, making it an area of great interest for companies involved in logistics linked to maritime traffic and for those planning to establish a strategic distribution centre with international projection.
