Today GIGA Storage obtained the irrevocable permit for the construction of the large-scale battery park of 600 MW and 2.400 MWh in Belgium, the GIGA Green Turtle. This milestone ensures that financing for this project can be arranged.

Construction of the battery farm is expected to start in 2025, with an estimated completion in 2028.

The land for GIGA Turtle was acquired from the Budé family, who owned the zinc factory that once stood here. GIGA Storage hopes to become a full-fledged successor to the enormous industrial revolution that has taken place here. Attached is a video about the past and future of this site.
