Altilium Clean Technology COO and co-founder Dr. Christian Marston joined SYNETIQ CEO Tom Rumboll and Haydn Davies, Editor in Chief at ATF Professional, to discuss the latest developments in EV battery recycling, for the first episode of SYNETIQ’S ‘Let’s Talk About EV’ Podcast.

Christian highlighted the UK’s good progress in the transition to electrification and spoke about the critical role recycling will play in reducing the carbon footprint of new batteries and saving our natural resources.

Earlier this year, Altilium and SYNETIC joined forces to recycle batteries recovered from damaged or ‘total loss’ vehicles and recover the critical raw materials, including lithium, for direct reuse in the production of new batteries.

SYNETIQ is already seeing a 50% year-on-year increase in the number of EVs coming through its business. Together with partners like Altilium, the company is focusing on the 4Rs – retail, repair, reuse and recycle – to maximise the value of those batteries economically and environmentally.
