The Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil praised the achievements made in the refinery sector, after the success of the ministry and the companies concerned with implementing and opening a number of important projects, which contributed to achieving a qualitative addition to national production. This came during his field visit to the Central Refineries Company today, Tuesday, May 21, 2024. He was accompanied by the Undersecretary for Distribution Affairs, Mr. Ali Maaraj.
The Minister of Oil, Mr. Hayan Abdul Ghani, said that sincere efforts had contributed to adding (360) thousand barrels per day to refining capacity during a year and a half of the government’s life, praising the completion and operation of the agglomeration units in the southern refinery companies with a capacity of one million and 300 thousand liters, and the middle with a capacity of (750) thousand liters. Liter and the North has a capacity of (20) thousand barrels, which contributes to increasing and improving gasoline production, and covering the local need along with other projects, and then the gradual shift towards export.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil chaired a meeting with officials in the company’s management, in the presence of the Director General of the Central Refineries Company, Mr. Haitham Ibrahim, during which they reviewed the company’s plans to escalate production capacities and improve their specifications.
