The Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) has carried out an audit of Equinor and its systems for safeguarding the integrity of the concrete jacket, and selected structures, at Oseberg A. The audit was conducted on 2 May 2024.

Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify that Equinor’s management and follow-up of the condition of the structures complied with the authorities’ and the company’s requirements, so as to reduce the likelihood of a major accident. There was a further objective of ensuring that the company’s established systems for safeguarding integrity and maintenance of structures are followed up, to ensure that the structures are maintained throughout their lifetime.

Result
We identified one non-conformity concerning verification of analyses, and one improvement point concerning maintenance of structures.

What happens next?
We have asked Equinor to report to us by 4 July 2024 on how the non-conformity will be addressed, and to give us their assessment of the improvement point observed.
