International renewable energy development platform ib vogt has released its 2023 Sustainability Report. The report highlights the company’s key sustainability initiatives, performance, and progress and presents Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) activities to foster transparency and to improve operations at all levels. It covers ib vogt GmbH, international branches, and all operational projects, where the company has operational control from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023.
The Sustainability Report highlights ib vogt’s key achievements in line with its objectives, including:
Net Zero: The company has reduced emissions from business travel by 64% from 2022 to 2023 and achieved net zero in their services through climate action investments. They have increased focus on scope 3 emissions, highlighting the importance of net zero within the supply chain.
Supply Chain, Governance, Risk and Compliance: ib vogt sponsors and actively participates in an industry-wide initiative to address human rights issues in the supply chain, including the Solar Stewardship Initiative (SSI). The company has completed their first year of full ESG supplier self-assessment and implemented corrective actions and traceability audits by independent experts. Additionally, a GDPR-compliant whistleblowing tool was launched, allowing both employees and external parties to raise concerns anonymously.
Circularity, Climate Risk and Biodiversity: ib vogt is reporting on two new environmental topics and has set a priority area in biodiversity. The company recycled 100% of module waste in 2023 and implemented a comprehensive internal risk assessment strategy to address climate risks. With a direct effect on biodiversity, projects utilizing dual land usage have increased by 26%.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I): ib vogt has made notable strides in DE&I, with improvements in gender representation in the executive team and new hires. Female headcount increased by 32.54%, compared to a 25.3% increase in male headcount. The workforce now includes 72 different nationalities, reflecting their global presence.
