United H2 Limited believes it is in a strong position to become a leader in the space through its strategy to build a diversified conglomerate with projects ranging across the whole sector from production through to end-use.

Mirage News reported that construction has started on the new state-of-the-art hydrogen information centre at CQU. The Gladstone region is currently home-base for around half of Queensland's 50-plus registered hydrogen projects all eyeing a slice of a forecast $33 billion behemoth which, by 2040, is expected to support thousands of skilled jobs. CQUniversity and the Miles Government are partnering to develop and operate the community information centre which will provide immersive experiences to educate and connect members of the community with the hydrogen industry.

Au Manufacturing reported that Sparc Hydrogen has significantly progressed the design and engineering of a pilot-scale photocatalytic water splitting (PWS) reactor to produce green hydrogen at a cheaper cost than traditional electrolysis.

Hydrogen Fuel News has reported that BP has taken a significant step towards a low-carbon future, announcing plans to construct five to 10 green hydrogen projects this decade. This ambitious initiative, which aims to produce sustainable aviation fuel and decarbonise refining operations, marks the beginning of a new era in energy production.

Hydrogen Insights reported that Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has issued a new round of five-year green bonds worth ¥10bn ($67m) in order to finance its decarbonisation projects, including those focused on the production and end-use of clean hydrogen.

Hydrogen Fuel News reported that Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC — Masdar and TotalEnergies — have signed an agreement to explore the viability of developing a commercial green hydrogen-to-methanol-to-SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) project. This ambitious initiative not only aims to produce SAF through renewable energy-powered electrolysis but also leverages captured CO2 from industrial sources, turning carbon emissions into a valuable feedstock for clean energy.

Hydrogen Insights has reported that the Appalachian Regional Clean Hydrogen Hub (ARCH2) has become the third federally funded cluster in the US to be launched, with an initial $30m of funding announced. ARCH2 is mainly based in the state of West Virginia, the second-largest natural gas producer in the US. As such, the hub is primarily centred around blue hydrogen production, although it also includes at least two green H2 projects.

Hydrogen Fuel News has reported that Cummins Inc., a global leader in power solutions, is making headlines with its innovative 15-litre hydrogen engine, which promises to be a game-changer for the transport industry. This significant development comes on the heels of the company receiving a $75 million grant from the Department of Energy and an additional $75 million investment of its own. These funds are earmarked to transform the Columbus Engine Plant (CEP) into a cutting-edge facility for zero-emissions components and electric powertrain systems.
