The renewable energy group RIC Energy has obtained the administrative construction authorisation (ACA) granted by the Ministry for Energy Transition and the Demographic Challenge (Miteco) for 96 percent of its photovoltaic projects.
This figure is much higher than the sector average, given that only 66 percent of the renewable projects that started the process before this body managed to obtain the AAC within the established timeframe, according to data provided by Miteco itself.
Of the 428 projects that started the procedures at Miteco, only 283 renewable energy projects obtained the AAC from this body, totalling 28,123 MW, 90 percent of which are photovoltaic and the rest wind.
In this way, RIC has contributed almost 5% of the photovoltaic projects approved by Miteco throughout Spain and has managed to obtain the AAC for 100% of the ministerial projects with a positive EIS without losing a single MW of power.
This means that RIC Energy has managed to obtain Miteco’s permits to build 1,213 MW in Spain in the coming months, which will involve an investment of around 900 million euros and the creation of around 2,000 jobs.
For Pilar García Rodríguez, RIC Energy’s Project Development Director, the success rate achieved by this renewable energy group demonstrates the efficiency in the processing and the high levels of regulatory and environmental compliance of its projects.
RIC Energy, a Spanish company with a presence on four continents, is currently developing some 20,000 MW of renewable generation and has advanced projects for the production of green hydrogen, energy storage and biogas.
