Canada’s plan to spend $219m subsidising green hydrogen exports to Germany will be channelled through the double-sided auction platform H2Global.

The auction will take place by the end of the year, pending sign off from the European Commission over its State Aid rules, and by the German government, which is expected to contribute a further €200m.

These developments showcase that governments around the world are backing hydrogen as the fuel of the future.
