The Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil inaugurated the completion of the first phase project of the central processing station in the Al-Faiha oil field in Basra Governorate, with a capacity of 100,000 barrels per day. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil, Mr. Hayan Abdul-Ghani, said that the ministry succeeded in transforming the Al-Faiha exploration area into a producing oil field, targeting three oil reservoirs (Al-Yamamah, Mishref, Al-Zubair), to produce (100) thousand barrels per day, and that the ministry has developed a plan to invest the associated gas from the field by building a plant to process and invest the associated gas with a capacity of (125) million standard cubic feet per day, which is expected to be completed by the end of this year 2024.
Abdul-Ghani stressed the ministry's keenness to implement the components of the government program to develop the oil and gas industry, and work to increase financial revenues to support the national economy.
The celebration was attended by a number of members of the Council of Representatives, undersecretaries of the ministry, a number of officials in oil companies and departments of the ministry's center, concerned authorities, dignitaries of the region, and citizens.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil arrived in Basra Governorate yesterday, Thursday, and inaugurated a number of oil and service projects.
