From August 1, 2024, the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) started supplying gas to Slovenia.

Gas supply is carried out on July 17 of this year according to the Memorandum of Understanding between SOCAR and "Geoplin", the largest company in the natural gas market of Slovenia, on the expansion of cooperation in the field of gas supply. SOCAR and Geoplin aim to further develop their long-term energy partnership.

Thus, along with Turkey, Georgia, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Serbia, Slovenia becomes the ninth country to which Azerbaijani gas is supplied.
