ThinkGeoEnergy is proud to support the upcoming African Rift Geothermal Conference as an official media partner. The 10th African Rift Geothermal Conference (“ARGeo-C10”) is set to take place at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on 21-27 October 2024. The event will be hosted by the United Republic of Tanzania through the Tanzania Geothermal Development Company Limited (TGDC) and organized in collaboration with the African Geothermal Association (AGA).
Now on its 10th edition, the biennial event seeks to promote regional cooperation to advance geothermal in Africa by creating a platform for exchanging information on exploration, development, investment, and utilization of geothermal resources in the region. The event draws a great number of local and international geothermal experts, service and technology providers, government officials, representatives of African utilities, financiers, investors, and other professionals.
Registration for the ARGeo-C10 is currently still open. Click here to register.
“We have always been firm in our support of increased geothermal deployment in the African region. There is great potential for geothermal in Africa and the immense work done so far in Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Zambia, Djibouti, Zimbabwe, and several other countries deserves recognition,” said Carlo Cariaga, Editor-in-Chief of ThinkGeoEnergy.
“We hope to play a part in bringing more attention to this sector and support in facilitating investment, research, policymaking, and community engagement.”
“This ARGeo-C10 in Tanzania is more than a gathering—it’s a pivotal moment for Africa to harness its geothermal resources and transform its energy landscape towards net-zero economy,” added Mathew Mwangomba, General Manager of TGDC.
Over the coming weeks, ThinkGeoEnergy will be publishing material with insights from thought leaders of the geothermal sector in Africa. This will culminate in the coverage of the ARGeo-C10 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania where we will be sharing highlights of the event, workshops, exhibition, and field trips.
