Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation (“Eurus Energy") announced today that Eurus Energy Odanosawa LLC, a group company of Eurus Energy, has begun construction of Eurus Odanosawa Wind Farm I & II (capacity: 43MW)" in Higashidoori Village, Shimokita District, Aomori Prefecture on September 2, 2024.
The Eurus Odanosawa Wind Farm (capacity: 13MW), which started operation in October 2004 and is currently operating in the Odanosawa district of Higashidoori, has operated for nearly 20 years and is scheduled to terminate operation in July 2025 for the complete reconstruction work.
Eurus Odanosawa Wind Farm I & II will expand and reconstruct the Eurus Odanosawa Wind Farm. The expansion project, which began today, will involve the installation of seven Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy S.A. wind turbines, each with an output of 4.3 MW, one of the largest in Japan. The replacement project will involve reconstructing ten 1.3MW wind turbines with three 4.3MW wind turbines. Commercial operation is scheduled to start in March 2027, and the generated power will be equivalent to the electricity consumed by approximately 21,000 average households, and is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 42,000 tons per year.*1 The wind farms will continue to effectively utilize abundant wind resources and contribute to the revitalization of the community.
