On behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Mr. Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Extraction Affairs, Mr. Bassem Mohammed Khader, chaired the meeting on the pricing of raw gas.
The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Gas Affairs, Mr. Ezzat Saber, and the general managers of the relevant departments, and representatives of the Dhi Qar Oil and South Gas companies.
During the meeting, the investment of gas produced in Dhi Qar Governorate and the mechanisms for accelerating its full investment were discussed, in addition to developing a plan for pricing gas.
The Undersecretary stressed that the Dhi Qar Oil and South Gas companies and the relevant departments have taken the necessary measures to accelerate investment, and set a unified pricing for all extractive companies, in addition to preparing studies and future plans to develop the sector.
The Undersecretary pointed out the Ministry's keenness to develop effective policies for pricing raw gas and developing the necessary infrastructure to fully invest it, in line with the government's plans to increase national gas production and reduce associated gas flaring, in order to achieve sustainable development goals and enhance economic revenues.
