WHAT: Salt River Project (SRP), Ørsted and leaders from Pinal County are hosting a ribbon-cutting event for the Eleven Mile Solar System. This facility will add 300 megawatts (MW) of solar and a 300MW/1200 megawatt hours (MWh) battery energy storage system (BESS) to the grid. Located in Pinal County, Eleven Mile is SRP’s largest co-located solar and BESS project.

DETAILS:
Eleven Mile Solar System will add 300 MW of renewable energy to SRP’s grid-enough to power 67,500 homes.
The facility features a 300 MW solar system and 300 MW battery energy storage system.
The Eleven Mile Solar System represents a $1 billion dollar investment in clean energy by Ørsted for Arizona.
The facility will generate more than $80 million for the local community and public services in the form of tax revenue.
The project also comes as one of the largest battery energy storage systems built in a single phase in the country.
