Bruce Power is once again the platinum sponsor of the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo (IPM) in Lindsay Oct. 1-5.
The company helped kick off the event by participating in the Bruce Power Opening Parade and ceremonies.
“Bruce County has deep agricultural roots, so we’re always proud to support the IPM as it celebrates rural life and the amazing people who make it great,” said Dwight Irwin, Bruce Power’s Manager of Community Relations. “As one of Ontario’s largest producers of clean energy, we’re helping to power Ontario forward while also ensuring we do our part to protect the environment for generations to come.”
The International Plowing Match and Rural Expo is a five-day celebration of agriculture and rural living. There are plowing competitions, a range of activities for people of all ages, numerous opportunities to learn about agriculture, live entertainment in multiple venues, and hundreds of vendors and exhibitors.
The 105-year-old event is a collaborative effort of the Ontario Plowmen’s Association and a local committee, with profits generated donated to groups and organizations in the host communities. The event is held in a different rural community every year and attracts more than 70,000 visitors from across Ontario, Canada and the United States.
