On June 4, 2024, ENGIE informed the European Works Council of its intention to consider winding down EVBox, while remaining open to any external project proposal, in particular offers to take over part of the activities.
On October 10, EVBox was informed that ENGIE was considering a binding offer from the Financière de Pessac to take over EVTronic (EVBox’s DC activities with exception of sales and production in the US).
After completion of the social process, the DC business (both sales and after-sales) would be continued by EVTronic, which would take over the site in Bordeaux, France, and all its employees (100 people located in Bordeaux and 34 from other EVBox entities).
As far as the AC and Everon businesses are concerned, EVBox would continue to meet its contractual warranty and after-sales service obligations for its product portfolio. A hundred of EVBox employees would be retained for a determined period, mostly in the Netherlands, by this new company to service EVBox’s contractual warranty and after-sales obligations.
EVBox and ENGIE have always affirmed their commitment to providing responsible support to all their stakeholders, employees, suppliers and customers, while meeting the company's current and future contractual obligations.
