A delegation from the National Oil Corporation (NOC) and its affiliated companies participated in the Mediterranean Offshore Conference (MOC 2024), which is being held in Alexandria from October 20 to 22.
The conference sessions focused on key issues in the oil and gas sector, including the development and management of oil and gas fields, the sustainable reuse of offshore infrastructure, and the application of advanced well control technologies to improve operational efficiency and safety standards. The event also highlighted the latest technological innovations aimed at boosting production capacity and achieving sustainable growth in line with best environmental and economic practices.
The NOC’s Oil Research Center presented two research papers during the conference. The first paper focused on permeability modeling using various methods such as electrofacies and machine learning algorithms. The second paper addressed the integration of well pressure data and fluid characterization to improve reservoir models and production strategies. Both papers received significant attention and praise from participants, reflecting the high level of expertise and national talent within Libya’s oil sector.
On the sidelines of the conference, and at the invitation of the Chairman of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), the NOC delegation held a meeting with the EGPC Chairman and several heads of Egyptian oil companies. The meeting focused on exploring ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in various oil-related fields.
NOC’s participation in this conference aligns with its strategy to modernize its operations and enhance operational efficiency, contributing to increased oil production and the strengthening of the national economy.
