KMG and Eni Discussed Issues of Bilateral Cooperation

Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC "KazMunayGas" (KMG) Askhat Khasenov held a meeting with the director of exploration and production of Eni Luca Vignati.

During the negotiations, the progress of implementation of joint projects, the main directions of interaction on new opportunities for cooperation aimed at attracting investments to the energy sector of Kazakhstan were reviewed.

The parties discussed the progress of work on the Kashagan field expansion project and the construction of a gas processing plant for the supply of commercial gas to the domestic market at the Karashiganak field.

The head of KMG, Askhat Khasenov, emphasized the need to increase Kazakhstan's participation in large projects to support local production and create additional jobs.

Special attention was paid to the hybrid power plant project under construction in Mangistau region. In July 2024, KMG and Eni began the construction of a 247 MW hybrid power plant using solar, wind and gas energy in Zhanaozen .

The hybrid power plant provides stable electricity supply to the regional subsidiaries of KMG "Uzenmunaygaz" JSC and "KazGOZ" LLP.

In addition, opportunities for cooperation in the field of designing oil and gas fields were discussed.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in the main directions.
