The highly anticipated Critical Minerals Africa (CMA) Summit is just one week away. Returning to Cape Town for its second edition, the summit takes place under the theme, “Innovate. Enact. Invest in African Critical Minerals to Sustain Global Growth.” With a comprehensive agenda and an impressive roster of high-level speakers, CMA 2024 brings together African critical mineral stakeholders and global partners to forge game-changing industry partnerships. CMA 2024 is supported by a strong lineup of partners and sponsors who are driving the growth of Africa's critical minerals markets, including Roken Mining, the African Energy Chamber, MOORE, MetSoP, AZ ARMATUREN, Rystad Energy, Project Blue, the Critical Minerals Africa Group, UK_AO Connect, the Zambia Chamber of Mines, the Mining Industry Association of Southern Africa, Frost & Sullivan, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, the Southern African–German Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Mines of Mozambique, the SA-DRC Chamber of Commerce and the Zimbabwe Chamber of Mines.

The Critical Minerals Africa 2024 summit on November 6 - 7 serves to position Africa as the primary investment destination for critical minerals. The event is held alongside the African Energy Week: Invest in African Energy 2024 conference on November 4 - 8, offering delegates access to the full scope of energy, mining and finance leaders in Cape Town. The two-day summit features a Ministerial Forum, which gathers Africa’s leading policymakers including Hon. Monica Chang’anamuno, Minister of Mining, Malawi; Hon. Polite Kambamura, Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development, Zimbabwe; HRH Prince Lonkhokhela, Minister of Natural Resources and Energy, Eswatini; and Hon. Louis Kabamba Watum, Minister of Industry and Development of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, DRC. The forum will explore various policies designed to attract foreign investment and help African nations maximize their 30% share of global critical mineral resources to drive economic growth, infrastructure development and job creation.

In addition, CMA 2024 hosts a Country Spotlight Session, featuring a series of presentations that highlight top critical mineral prospects across the continent, including Zimbabwe, South Africa, Tanzania, Mozambique, Angola and Namibia. Dedicated presentations on copper, cobalt and lithium will unpack current and future projects driving the growth of the market and Africa’s contributions to global critical mineral supplies. In addition, the Leaders Forum features international project developers and mining firms – including Glencore, Premier African Metals, Pensana, Isondo Precious Metals, Orion Minerals and KoBold Metals – who will discuss their respective strategies for boosting local value addition and harnessing Africa’s energy transition minerals and metals for sustainable growth.

The Investment Forum, along with specialized panels, brings together organizations including the World Bank, U.S. Development Finance Corporation, ABSA, Moshe Capital, and the U.S. Export-Import Bank to explore the dynamic investment opportunities shaping Africa’s critical minerals sector. With global demand for critical minerals set to increase by four times by 2030 – owing to the rapid deployment of clean energy technologies – the African continent has a vital role to play in meeting this demand and establishing diversified critical mineral supply chains. As the premier gathering for African critical mineral stakeholders, CMA 2024 represents the ideal platform to discuss, showcase and maximize growth and partnership investment opportunities across the continent.
