HONTEK and SOCOMORE are pleased to announce the successful completion of an agreement regarding high-performance erosion protection coatings products.

HONTEK Corporation, a worldwide leader in erosion-resistant protective coatings for wind energy, aerospace, and industrial applications, has dedicated over 30 years to creating field-proven, superior coatings. Based in US-Connecticut and led by Shek Hong and Joanne Hong, HONTEK Corporation has established itself as a committed partner to the wind energy market with its innovative high-performance technology.

HONTEK and SOCOMORE have joined forces to leverage their respective strengths and expertise to support the growth of the wind industry around the world.

As part of this collaboration, in January 2025, SOCOMORE will be the production and sales partner for HONTEK LEP products in the wind and aerospace markets, including Leading Edge Protection SOCOBLADE LEP 220 & LEP 220H (formerly HONTEK LEP 220 & 220H), manufactured in Rhome, TX.

Backed by over 30 years of research, HONTEK’s outstanding leading-edge protection coatings for wind turbine blades have been designed to provide high-performance protection against erosion in a broad range of environments. Easy to use and compatible with the widest humidity range, HONTEK coatings can be applied on new blades as a preventive protection or on damaged blades as a repair solution. HONTEK LEP 220 & LEP 220H have been field-proven in onshore, offshore, and nearshore wind farms. They are well-received by wind farm owners, operators, and independent service providers in the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia.

The agreement between HONTEK and SOCOMORE is aligned to its vision of working together to protect and preserve our environment. By playing a role in industry decarbonization and reducing our impact, we are paving the way for a more sustainable future with our ecosystem.

As a worldwide chemical product designer & manufacturer for 50 years, SOCOMORE provides a complementing critical surface protection range of solutions for the wind energy market: interior & exterior cleaners (including a 100% biodegradable cleaning range), anti-corrosion, and anti-erosion solutions. SOCOMORE is now able to provide maintenance operators and wind turbine manufacturers with a product offer to protect wind turbines. From its plant in Rhome, Texas, SOCOMORE offers worldwide delivery services, ensuring the products reach customers worldwide. Its technical teams in Asia, Europe & North America will support customers in their various challenges to operate wind farms.

Andrew LEECH, SOCOMORE: “We are grateful to HONTEK for bringing us their 30+ years of expertise in erosion protection technologies. We are confident that our strategic partnership will expand our technology offering to wind, aerospace and industrial markets.”
