Equinor – Heidrun – helideck operations

The Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) has carried out an audit of Equinor and their management of helideck operations at Heidrun.

We conducted the audit from 29 August to 4 September 2024, with the assistance of the Civil Aviation Authority Norway.

Objective
The objective of the audit was to monitor that the helideck has been designed, equipped and maintained in accordance with applicable regulations to assist in safe helicopter operations and transport of personnel.

Result
We identified three non-conformities during the audit. These concerned:
Fire and rescue preparedness
Condition and maintenance of the DAHR system
Handling of hazard and accident situations

What happens next?
We have asked Equinor to report to us by 2 December 2024 on how the non-conformities will be addressed.
